Befriender Volunteer Opportunity in Hull
We are looking for a Befriender Volunteer to provide meaningful companionship at our extra care service in Hull. Volunteering with Creative Support is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people with support needs while working alongside our team to deliver truly person-centred care.
We're seeking someone who is warm, sociable, and a great listener. As a Befriender, you'll spend time with one of the people we support, offering friendly conversation and companionship through regular meet-ups. You may also spend time with the person we support in the local community, visiting cafes, local services such as the library or attending events and activities. If this sounds like something you would enjoy and you can commit a few hours on a regular basis, we'd be delighted to hear from you!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
