Volunteer Role Description:
To support the provision of short-term, structured befriending support for older people across Northumberland, to support individuals to achieve defined personal goals, improve their confidence and independently access activities and groups in their local community.
What will you be doing?
- Weekly befriending sessions with older adults in the community for up to 26 weeks
- Supporting personal goals by building confidence in alleviating loneliness and social isolation
- Breaking goals down into small, weekly steps that feel safe and manageable
- Completing weekly session reports to track progress
- Supporting handover into community provision once the befriending sessions have ended

- Able to commute: driver/public transport
