Role Description
The Bench Hand Joiner is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Glasgow Area. The individual in this position will be responsible for the accurate fabrication, assembly, and finishing of bespoke cabinetry and furniture components according to technical drawings and specifications. The role also involves maintaining a safe and organized workshop, collaborating with colleagues on project requirements, and proactively identifying improvements in techniques and processes. The Bench Hand Joiner will support the delivery of high-quality, handcrafted products that align with Severino Group’s craftsmanship and design ethos.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational Carpentry skills with experience in high-quality cabinetry or furniture making.
- Proficiency in Hand Tools for precise cutting, shaping, and joinery work.
- Experience with Power Tools and workshop machinery used in framing and fabrication tasks.
- Competence in Framing and structural assembly to ensure accurate, durable constructions.
- Skill in Finish Carpentry, including fine detailing, fitting, and surface preparation for premium finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to craftsmanship, and focus on quality and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Awareness of health and safety practices in a workshop environment and commitment to safe working methods.
- Previous experience in bespoke or luxury joinery is highly beneficial; relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in joinery or carpentry is an advantage.
