Role Description

This full-time, on-site Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker role is based in Harlow. The role involves interpreting drawings and measurements, selecting appropriate materials, and constructing bespoke furniture components using traditional joinery techniques and modern machinery. Daily tasks include:

The Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker will collaborate with the workshop team, assist with fitting and installation when required, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. The role also includes inspecting completed work, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to continuous improvement in production processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong carpentry and finish carpentry skills, with experience in bench joinery or cabinet making.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, planes, saws) for precise cutting, shaping, and assembly.
  • Competence with power tools and machinery (e.g., saws, sanders, drills) and safe workshop practices.
  • Experience with framing and structural assembly of furniture or cabinetry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and measurements with high accuracy.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Prior experience in furniture manufacturing, cabinet making, or a similar workshop environment.
  • Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry, joinery, or cabinet making is beneficial.
