Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Barista to join the team at Science and Industry Museum.
Located within the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, our café offers a dynamic and welcoming working environment at one of the city's most popular visitor attractions. Serving museum visitors, families, school groups, tourists, and local guests throughout the day, the café is a vibrant and fast-paced operation where no two days are the same.
We pride ourselves on creating a warm, family-friendly atmosphere that complements the museum experience. Excellent customer service, efficiency, and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do, helping visitors enjoy a memorable day out. We are looking for energetic, personable Baristas who thrive in busy environments, enjoy engaging with a wide variety of customers, and can consistently deliver high standards during peak trading periods.

Successful candidates will bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for coffee and hospitality. A proactive approach, ability to work as part of a close-knit team, and commitment to creating a welcoming experience for guests of all ages are essential.
Our café operates seven days a week in line with museum opening hours, including weekends and school holidays, when visitor numbers are at their highest.
About the Barista role:
- Preparing and serving coffee and tea drinks
- Developing and maintaining expert knowledge of coffee and tea served at Benugo
- Supporting the Team Leader and Cafe Manager in training the team
- Properly handling and maintaining all coffee equipment
- Ensuring the customers experience is maintained at all times to the highest standard
- Ensuring that food safety standards are always followed
- General cleaning duties and general tasks across the site
