We're Hiring: Security Officer

📍 Location: Berkshire

💰 Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour

📅 Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (42 hours per week)

A leading global provider of data centre and cloud infrastructure services, delivering secure end-to-end solutions for technology and cloud service providers across Europe. As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in protecting employees, property, and critical IT infrastructure while supporting a business with over 40 years of industry experience. The Security Officer will provide a professional security service in line with assignment instructions and customer requirements, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, reliability, and customer service are maintained at all times. Working within a fast-paced environment that supports hyperscale data centres and complex infrastructure projects, the Security Officer will demonstrate the core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness while contributing to the protection of vital technology assets. Please note that a valid SIA licence is required before commencing operational duties.

Responsibilities

Job Description

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

  • As a Security Officer, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and professional environment by:

    • Protecting people, property, and assets.
    • Conducting patrols and monitoring site security.
    • Managing access control and visitor procedures.
    • Responding to incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations.
    • Reporting security, safety, and welfare concerns accurately.
    • Preventing loss, damage, theft, and unauthorised access.
    • Delivering excellent customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors.
    • Completing required documentation and incident reports.
    • Operating in line with assignment instructions and company procedures.
    • Demonstrating the values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness at all times.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Valid SIA Licence
  • Previous Front of House experience within a professional environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Professional, polished, and customer-focused approach
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and attentive in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible to work days, nights, and weekends
  • Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable employment history
  • Strong written and spoken English skills
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
