Rolls Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood, Bespoke Engineering – Placement - (July 2027)
This internship is based in the Bespoke Interior Trim & Electrical Engineering Team. The role is suited to a student with a strong interest in mechanical and electrical engineering, who enjoys creative problem-solving and wants to contribute to the development of one-off luxury interior and electrical features for Rolls-Royce vehicles.
What awaits you?
- Support the Bespoke Engineering team with a mix of administrative duties and hands-on engineering tasks, including harness building, soldering, and basic ECU/PCB work.
- Develop your understanding of automotive electrical systems, including CAN and LIN bus applications, and gain exposure to diagnostic and development tools such as Vector, PicoScope, and EMC test equipment.
- Work with the Bespoke Interior Engineering team to help design and deliver unique, highly personalised interior features in collaboration with the in-house design team.
- Help translate design concepts into practical engineering solutions by combining premium materials, attention to detail, and sound engineering principles.
- Contribute ideas for innovative interior solutions and support the development, production, and installation of bespoke components.

What should you bring along?
- You should be studying towards an undergraduate degree in Automotive, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related subject, and be on track to achieve a 2:1 or above.
- You should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
- You should be able to demonstrate strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of materials used in automotive or other high-end products would be beneficial.
- Strong collaborator with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams.
- Proactive mindset, consistently taking initiative and going the extra mile to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Previous experience in a new product development environment would be an advantage.
