What to Expect
McLaren Special Operations create cars around an owner’s precise tastes, and provide everything from bespoke customization options through to building ultra-exclusive limited-editions or one-off breath-taking models.
Supporting the MSO Head of Commercial, the role is responsible for management of McLaren’s relationship with our VIP clients, predominantly in assisting them in designing and specifying their new cars whilst managing to complete specification in advance of production scheduling deadlines.
What You'll Do
- Ensure that McLaren’s VIP clients are given the ultimate ownership experience resulting in a customer base that advocates our brand and products.
- Be available on the phone and social media platforms to answer client queries outside of core work hours including weekends to foster an atmosphere conducive to a long-term relationship.
- Assist both retailers and clients directly with their bespoke specification on vehicle orders from start to finish – take the enquiry, meet the client to assist in the design process of their car, provide a bespoke quotation, sign off the order and ensure the car is delivered as per the requirements by approving the MSO specification sheets, keeping the customer and retailer informed throughout.
- Host clients, retailers and prospects to discuss in detail their vision of their bespoke car and guide them to a deliverable spec.
- Build relationships with our most valued customers that results in an air of trust, and a desire on their part to engage with the McLaren brand fully, both financially and physically.
- Be able to convey customer insight to support development of our processes, products and experiences.
- Be a first point of contact for internal teams on MSO bespoke enquiries.
- Host clients at events for bespoke spec sessions and advocate the MSO brand in MSO, MTC or globally within regions.
- Ability to travel for extended periods away from office/country.

What You'll Bring
- You will be display excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding attention to detail and a working knowledge of the functioning of an automotive design and manufacturing centre.
- Display a keen awareness of motoring trends, market influence and luxury lifestyle.
- Exhibits an inner confidence that results in being at ease within the company of our Shareholder’s and their associates and to show a confidence in leading the conversation.
- The ability to show technical competency when discussing mechanical/bespoke option requests from clients.
- The ability to work on many parallel projects and competing priorities.
- Completing enquiry administration with great attention to detail.
- Preferable educated to degree or similar experience.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Resilient, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Unquestionable personal and professional integrity.
