Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Sales Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Specialist to join our team at a leading Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) manufacturer. The BESS Sales Director will be responsible for driving sales growth by identifying opportunities, managing customer relationships, and delivering tailored energy storage solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of BESS technology, market trends, and customer needs, along with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Sales Strategy and Execution

    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business objectives in the energy storage market.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including utility-scale projects, commercial & industrial (C&I) applications, and microgrid solutions.
    • Meet or exceed sales targets through proactive client engagement and effective pipeline management.
  • Customer Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Understand customer needs and present tailored solutions that align with their technical and financial goals.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and follow-up to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Technical and Market Expertise

    • Stay up-to-date on BESS technology, market trends, and regulatory developments to effectively position the company’s products.
    • Work closely with the technical team to design and propose energy storage solutions, including technical specifications, configurations, and performance benefits.
    • Deliver compelling product presentations and demonstrations to prospective clients.

  • Proposal Development and Negotiation

    • Prepare detailed sales proposals, including cost-benefit analyses, ROI calculations, and project timelines.
    • Lead contract negotiations to ensure favorable terms for both the company and the customer.
    • Collaborate with legal, finance, and engineering teams to finalize agreements.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams

    • Coordinate with the engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams to ensure smooth project execution post-sale.
    • Provide market feedback to the product development team to enhance the BESS product portfolio.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align sales efforts with company objectives.
  • Reporting and Analysis

    • Track sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for management.
    • Analyze market data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
    • Maintain an up-to-date CRM database with customer information and sales activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the energy storage, renewable energy, or power systems sectors.
  • Strong understanding of BESS technology, including lithium-ion batteries, inverters, and power conversion systems.
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and negotiate high-value contracts.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Technical knowledge of grid-scale and behind-the-meter energy storage applications.
  • Experience in renewable energy project financing or sales.
  • Familiarity with energy policies, grid interconnection standards, and market regulations.
