The Role

As a Best Start Outreach Coordinator, you will play a key role in helping children and families access the support they need to thrive and achieve positive outcomes. Working across our network of Best Start Family Hubs and within local communities, you'll build trusted relationships with families, communities, and partner organizations, helping to ensure families can access the right support at the right time.

You'll be at the heart of our early help and prevention approach, working proactively to engage families, reduce barriers to accessing services, and improve outcomes for children, particularly in their earliest years. Through outreach, partnership working, and community engagement, you'll help make our Family Hubs visible, welcoming, and accessible to all.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver outreach and engagement activities that raise awareness of Best Start Family Hubs and encourage families to access support, services, and activities.
  • Build positive relationships with families, community groups, and partner agencies, with a focus on engaging underrepresented and harder-to-reach families.
  • Support children and families to navigate services, access appropriate support, and participate in Best Start activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and multi-agency partners to coordinate support and improve outcomes for families.
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to service monitoring, and ensure safeguarding and information governance requirements are met.

What we’re looking for

  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years, Education, Health, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience of working with children and families to improve outcomes, particularly families with children aged 0-5.
  • Knowledge of child development, early help, and prevention services and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with families, colleagues, and partner agencies.
  • A proactive, compassionate, and inclusive approach, with a commitment to early intervention, prevention, and strengths-based practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
