BI Analyst (MS Stack)
Summary
Insight Talent Partners is currently recruiting a BI Analyst for a professional services business based in central Manchester working a hybrid model of three days in the office and two from home. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid SQL skills and some hands-on Power BI experience who wants to grow their capability in a supportive, modern analytics environment. The focus is on attitude, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. If you enjoy solving problems, improving reporting, and developing your technical skills, this role will give you the space and support to progress quickly.
The Role
You will join a collaborative Analytics team working to modernise and simplify the reporting landscape. Your day-to-day work will involve improving SQL queries, enhancing Power BI reports, and helping to consolidate business logic into reusable datasets.
You will work closely with analysts, data engineers, and senior team members who will guide you through best practices in data modelling, governance, and performance optimisation. As you develop, you will gain exposure to more advanced BI techniques and tools.

- £40,000 basic salary
- 5 percent quarterly bonus based on pre-determined KPIs

Key Responsibilities
- Improve and streamline existing SQL queries, datasets, and Power BI reports
- Support the consolidation of business logic into reusable, governed data models
- Build and maintain analytical datasets and dimensional models with guidance
- Contribute to performance optimisation across reports, DAX, and refresh processes
- Adopt best practices in Power BI development and data modelling
- Help ensure consistency and accuracy of business metrics
- Collaborate with technical teams to support reporting standards and governance
- Bring curiosity, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset

What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Good SQL skills and confidence writing queries
- Some hands-on Power BI experience
- Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Clear communication and collaborative working style
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric
- Understanding of dimensional modelling or data warehousing
- Any experience improving reporting processes
