The role supports BI Administrators by coordinating day to day tasks and escalating issues through agreed management channels. It provides delivery and operational visibility to BI leadership to support effective planning and decision making.
The role will line manage and coach BI Administrators, ensuring that reports and data flows are executed, with dependencies managed so reports and outputs are produced accurately and on time in accordance to contractual and non-contractual agreements and KPIs.
It also adds delivery management expertise, agile delivery methodology and underpins planning cycles by aligning demand with capacity and priorities, while co-creating and communicating product roadmaps to maximise value delivered.
Accountabilities
Accountable Delivery of Work
- Supports delivery by maintaining delivery plans, tracking progress against agreed milestones, highlighting slippage or risks, and escalating issues to BI Managers.
Operational Excellence & Stability
- Ensures day to day operations run smoothly by:
- Maintaining reliable processes
- Supports day to day BI operations by monitoring agreed operational activities, logging incidents and risks, escalating concerns, and ensuring agreed escalation processes are followed.
- Ensuring continuity of service and minimal disruption
- Provides visibility of delivery and BI operational health, risks, and trends to BI leadership and stakeholders.
BI Operating Model & Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain and apply the BI operating model and standard operating procedures, supporting consistent ways of working across the BI function.
Leadership & Development of BI Administrators
- Supports the BI Administrators by allocating day to day tasks, clarifying priorities set by BI leadership, and escalating performance or capability concerns through appropriate management channels.
Planning, Prioritisation & Capacity Management
- Supports planning processes by maintaining delivery trackers, capacity views, and status updates, providing inputs to planning discussions led by BI leadership.
Delivery Governance & Ways of Working
- Applies agreed delivery frameworks and ways of working, supporting compliance with reporting, governance, and assurance requirements.
Continuously Improve Delivery Mechanism
- Identifies recurring operational issues and assists with documenting improvement opportunities for consideration by BI leadership.

Essential
- Proven experience supporting the end-to-end delivery of data, BI, or digital initiatives, ensuring work is delivered to agreed scope, time, and quality.
- Experience operating in a delivery, operations, or programme role within a complex organisation, balancing competing priorities and stakeholder demands.
- Proven experience of working in a PMO or delivery management function that operates agile delivery methodologies.
- Strong capability in planning, prioritisation, and capacity management, with experience aligning demand to available resources and making trade-offs explicit.
- Experience designing, applying, or operating delivery frameworks (Agile, hybrid, or structured), ensuring consistent ways of working without unnecessary process overhead.
- Demonstrable experience ensuring operational stability, including managing incidents, risks, dependencies, and service continuity.
- Experience leading or coordinating operational teams, such as BI Administrators or support functions, to deliver reliable day-to-day service.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to provide clear delivery updates, manage expectations, and maintain confidence in delivery outcomes.
- Ability to identify delivery inefficiencies and implement improvements to processes, tooling, or ways of working.
- Experience using delivery and workflow tools (e.g. Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar) to support planning and transparency, without overengineering process.
- Experience supporting multiteam or cross functional delivery, coordinating across technical and nontechnical groups.
Desirable
- Experience working specifically within Business Intelligence, Data, or Analytics teams, with an understanding of BI lifecycle, dependencies, and operational challenges.
- Exposure to product-based delivery models, including cocreating and communicating product roadmaps.
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives across delivery or operational functions.
- Familiarity with BI platform operations (e.g. reporting schedules, data refreshes, dependencies, access models), even if not hands on.
- Relevant professional qualifications or training in delivery management, project management, or service management (e.g. Agile, Scrum, PRINCE2, ITIL), or equivalent experience.
