BI Developer (Inside IR35) - 6 Month Contract

On behalf of the CPS, we are looking for a BI Developer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. This is a hybrid role, 2 days per week in a CPS office, with multiple locations available across England and Wales.

About the CPS

The CPS prosecutes criminal cases that have been investigated by the police and other investigative organisations in England and Wales. The CPS is independent, and they make their decisions independently of the police and government.

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to support the Business Intelligence and Systems Team and senior CPS leadership by developing interactive, user-friendly visualisations using Power BI and other reporting tools. Working closely with business stakeholders, you will transform complex HR, Finance, and corporate data into actionable insights while helping to modernise and enhance reporting capabilities across the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop interactive Power BI dashboards and visualisations to support business decision making.
  • Transform complex HR, Finance, and corporate data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Improve and modernise existing reporting processes and reporting catalogues.
  • Analyse data, troubleshoot reporting issues, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support the ongoing development of reporting capabilities across Oracle ERP/HCM and associated business systems.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across Finance, HR, and wider business functions.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on reporting best practices and data visualisation solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
