Job Title: BI Developer (contract)
Location: London
Hybrid 2-3 days a week in the London office
Duration: 6 months (with potential to extend)

Day Rate: Competitive (Inside IR35)
About the Role
Working with the Deloitte Associate (Contractor) Programme means we can offer you the opportunity to work on a variation of industry and client related projects. Our aim is to retain the best talent and so when your project end date nears our team of Talent Community Advisors will be working with you to look at alternative projects within the firm that suit your experience should you wish to continue with Deloitte.
We are looking for a BI Developer to build and enhance reporting solutions supporting Exchange Traded Derivatives and Cleared OTC products. You will use Tableau or MicroStrategy and Oracle technologies to deliver high-quality dashboards, reporting and data analysis across trade, risk, margin and settlement processes. The role will translate complex business requirements into scalable BI solutions, with a strong focus on query performance, reconciliation and data accuracy. You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders in a banking environment and support migration from GMI to strategic target platforms.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong BI development experience using Tableau or MicroStrategy within capital markets / Financial Services environment
- Banking knowledge of futures, derivatives, clearing or capital markets.
- Hands-on development experience with Tableau Desktop/Server and MicroStrategy Developer/Web.
- Strong Oracle database expertise, including advanced SQL, PL/SQL and query performance tuning.
- Experience developing and supporting data warehouse solutions.
- Strong data analysis capability and experience translating business requirements into technical reporting solutions.
- Excellent business analysis, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Desirable: shell scripting and Python

Responsibilities
- Design and deploy high-performance Tableau or MicroStrategy dashboards tracking real-time futures/options exposures, margin requirements, and risk metrics.
- Develop optimized PL/SQL packages and indexed SQL views to pre-calculate complex financial logic.
- Architect structured dimensional data warehouse models accompanied by comprehensive source-to-target mapping sheets for trade lifecycle data.
- Build Shell and Python scripts to automate daily database procedures, trigger dashboard extract refreshes, and send system failure alerts.
- Author step-by-step developer documentation and business-user training guides to ensure long-term platform maintenance and rapid adoption.
