Job Title: BI Developer
Department: Change Management, DAF Fleet Services
Reports to: Business Transformation Manager
Location: Hybrid with Devizes presence as required
Purpose of Role:
The Power BI Developer plays a key role in supporting business improvement and informed decision-making across DAF Fleet Services by delivering data-driven insights within the Business Change department. Using Microsoft Power BI, you will analyse and interpret complex data from multiple sources to develop clear, impactful visualisations and reports that enable stakeholders to understand performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Reporting to the Business Transformation Manager and working either remotely or from the DFS offices in Devizes, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to transform operation requirements into meaningful insights, supporting strategic initiatives and operational decision-making while maintaining strong working relationships across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain interactive, intuitive, visually compelling Power BI reports and dashboards
- Build robust data models and perform data ingestion within Power BI
- Design and implement ETL processes to support reporting needs
- Connect Power BI to multiple data sources including databases, APIs, and spreadsheets
- Create DAX measures and calculated columns for business intelligence solutions
- Write complex queries using SQL
- Build Power Apps and Power Automate flows that extend Power BI into practical business workflows
- Managing your own projects end-to-end, from requirements and scoping through to deployment and support
- Using deployment pipelines and version control to manage environments and releases properly
- Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into BI solutions
- Document data models, reports, and processes
- Support ongoing improvements to the company’s reporting and analytics capability

Skills Required:
Essential
- 2-3 years’ experience of using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Qlik View, Tableau (or similar).
- Strong knowledge of DAX and Power Query
- Solid understanding of SQL, relational databases and data warehousing
- Strong understanding of data modelling principles
- Experience connecting to multiple data sources
- Highly proficient in MS Excel and other MS applications
- Experience with low code and front end automation tools such as Power Apps / Power Automate (or similar)
- Excellent communication, Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for data storage and processing.
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and frameworks.
- Previous experience in a similar industry
