BI Lead

Up to £60,000
FTC/Remote (UK)

This is an excellent opportunity for a BI Lead to join a data-driven organisation delivering impactful insight at scale. You'll play a key role in enhancing reporting capabilities, shaping data models, and supporting strategic projects that influence decision-making across a wide range of stakeholders.

They are a nationally recognised organisation that uses data, analytics, and digital innovation to support large-scale programmes and engagement initiatives. Their analytics function is investing heavily in modern data platforms and self-service reporting capabilities, creating a strong environment for BI professionals to make a tangible impact.

Working within a collaborative Data & Analytics team, you'll partner with engineers, analysts, business stakeholders, and senior leaders to deliver high-quality insights and reporting solutions.

The Role

As a BI Lead, you will focus on developing and optimising reporting solutions, improving data models, and supporting stakeholders across the organisation.

  • Enhancing and maintaining existing Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Working with semantic models and parameterised reporting solutions
  • Designing and optimising data models to support business reporting requirements
  • Translating stakeholder requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions
  • Supporting external and internal reporting products
  • Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to improve data accessibility
  • Contributing to strategic data initiatives and new reporting projects
  • Applying business analysis skills to understand reporting challenges and deliver effective solutions
  • Supporting best practices across Power BI development, governance, and deployment processes

Your Skills & Experience

You will ideally have:

  • Strong commercial experience with Power BI, including front-end development and back-end modelling
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Strong data modelling expertise
  • Experience writing and optimising DAX measures
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements
  • Understanding of dimensional modelling approaches and reporting best practices
  • Exposure to CI/CD processes, Azure DevOps, or similar deployment methodologies

Highly desirable experience includes:

  • Kimball methodology
  • Star schema design
  • Medallion architecture
  • Additional experience with Databricks, Databricks Genie, AI, or NLP technologies would be beneficial but is not essential.

What They Offer

  • Fixed-term contract through to October 2027
