Bibliographic Metadata and ONIX Feeds Manager
DK is looking for a Bibliographic Metadata and ONIX Feeds Manager to join our global publishing operations team. This role ensures accurate bibliographic metadata reaches retailers, libraries and data aggregators worldwide. Our ONIX feeds communicate information about DK’s books and support their sale and distribution.
You’ll manage DK’s ONIX feeds, monitor their performance, investigate issues and ensure they meet industry standards, legal requirements and business needs. You’ll create new feeds, update existing ones and work with internal teams and external data recipients to ensure metadata is delivered accurately.
You’ll also advise and train colleagues on metadata standards and best practice, lead work to improve data quality, particularly subject classification, and contribute to projects that improve our systems, data flows and processes.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor DK’s ONIX feeds, ensuring they run reliably and metadata is delivered accurately to external partners
- Investigate and resolve feed issues, making adjustments to meet internal requirements, external specifications and industry standards
- Create new feeds and update existing feeds as systems, partners and business needs change
- Improve the quality of DK’s bibliographic metadata, advising and training colleagues on standards and best practice
- Work on projects to improve data flows, bibliographic systems and processes
- Work with colleagues in Audio, Sales, publishing divisions, Digital and Sales Operations in Delhi, and PRH UK and US
- Communicate with external data recipients and take part in industry working groups
Essential skills
- Experience working with ONIX feeds and bibliographic metadata, preferably within publishing, bookselling, libraries, wholesaling, distribution or a related organisation.
- Experience monitoring, investigating and resolving data or feed errors, including identifying causes and taking action to resolve or prevent recurrence.
- Experience creating, updating or testing data feeds, feed configurations or similar system outputs to meet changing business, system or partner requirements.
- Experience using a bibliographic database or product information system, with an understanding of how metadata flows between internal systems and external recipients, and the ability to use Excel to review and analyse data.
- Knowledge of bibliographic metadata standards, together with the ability to improve data quality and explain technical processes or requirements clearly through advice, training or documentation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
