Role Description

This internship role for a Bicycle Mechanic at Gremlin Robotics is a hybrid position based in London, with some work-from-home flexibility for documentation and virtual meetings.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting bicycles
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues
  • Performing repairs and adjustments
  • Conducting routine maintenance to ensure safety and performance

The intern will assist senior mechanics, maintain a clean and organized workshop, manage basic inventory of parts and tools, and document work performed in internal systems. The role also involves communicating with team members and, when required, with customers to explain repairs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Possess strong practical skills in Bicycle Repair and Bike Repair, with familiarity working on different types of Bikes and Bicycle components.
  • Demonstrate clear and professional Communication skills for collaborating with team members and explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools; ability to follow safety procedures and workshop best practices.
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and work under guidance in a fast-paced, technology-focused environment.
  • Ability to commute to the London workspace for scheduled on-site days and reliably manage time for hybrid work arrangements.
  • Previous experience in a bike shop, cycling club, or DIY mechanical projects is beneficial but not required.
