Role Profile
The Bid & Business Development Lead is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading complex bids and tenders while driving defined business development initiatives in support of Colloide’s growth strategy.
The role requires an individual who can operate confidently across bid management, business development, client engagement, market intelligence and strategic growth activity. The postholder will work closely with engineering, projects, commercial and senior leadership teams and will be expected to influence stakeholders, coordinate multidisciplinary contributions and take ownership of agreed workstreams.
The role is also expected to contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Colloide’s bid and business development processes, methodologies and standards.
Qualifications
A degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction, Commercial Management or a related discipline, together with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar Bid and Business Development role; or
Where the candidate does not hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Bid and Business Development role.

Experience
- Experience of managing complex bids or tenders from initial opportunity/capture through to submission and post-bid review.
- Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams, including technical, engineering, commercial and operational colleagues.
- Experience of developing client relationships and identifying business development opportunities.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of competitive positioning.
Desirable
- Experience within an engineering, technical, construction, utilities, energy or related B2B environment.
- Experience of working within the water, wastewater, energy, heat networks, data centre or related sectors.
- Experience of framework opportunities, strategic partnerships, joint ventures or supply-chain development.
- Relevant professional qualification in business development, sales, marketing, procurement, project management or a related discipline.
