We are seeking an experienced Bid & Content Writer. This role sits within our creative and growing commercial team. You'll be supporting the delivery of all commercial activity through championing the way we communicate across our written content. We're a socially aware, family-owned business driven by our passion for sustainability and people and our commitment to delivery customer focused services. In a dynamic environment you'll be central to identifying what matters for each audience and bringing our stories to life for them.

Hours: 35 hours per week (hybrid) - 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH

(Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the business, which may require you to adjust your usual working hours and days from time to time)

About The Role

Client acquisition focus (80%) - You'll be predominantly supporting the important job of helping acquire new business by developing and collating written content for tenders, client proposals and presentations. You’ll be highly competent in writing engaging and persuasive content showing a keen understanding on being able to construct responses that are centred on the questions our clients are challenging us with. You’ll be a meticulous researcher, ensuring our content is bespoke and targeted on the specific client/audience you are writing for. You’ll show the confidence to work with the relevant Regular Cleaning subject matter expert to demonstrate technical knowledge and experience in our responses.

Creative focus (20%) - As part of our storytelling, you'll lead crafting copy for our promotional content and owned media channels. You'll be someone who can tell a compelling story (in words) reflecting the key messages, features and benefits for our audiences. You will have a thirst for gathering information, understanding our business, our USP’s and our opportunities to engage with audiences.

Necessary Qualifications, Skills And Experience

  • Task/goal oriented with ability to meet deadlines and manage workload to agreed objectives
  • Experience writing structured content such as bids, proposals, reports or similar
  • Structured and driven individual with outstanding communication and organisational skills
  • Able to use tools, including AI, to support content development in a practical way
  • Experience creating branded or marketing content (e.g. social posts, blogs, newsletters)
  • Understanding of writing for a B2B audience and adapting tone accordingly
  • Comfortable working with a range of stakeholders to gather information and shape content
  • Ability to translate key messages and brand identity into clear, consistent copy
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environment where priorities can shift
  • Proficient in the MS Office suites (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including formatting documents
  • Ability to write for different audiences and purposes
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at work
  • Degree-level education, ideally in a relevant subject (e.g. marketing, communications)
  • A high standard of verbal and written English (ESOL Level 2 or GCSE A to C grade)
  • Team player with a strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a hands-on approach
  • High degree of customer service, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Someone who can remain abreast of key marketing and social media trends
  • Strong understanding of sustainability and delivery of sustainability focused communications desirable
