At Amey, we're shaping the future of infrastructure, consulting and complex public sector services. We are looking for an experienced Bid Director to join our central Work Winning team and play a critical leadership role in delivering our ambitious growth strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead some of Amey’s most strategic and complex pursuits, driving growth across multiple sectors and markets. You will play a key role in securing high-profile opportunities, ranging from multi-million-pound consultancy commissions to major infrastructure programmes and frameworks, including emerging opportunities within the nuclear sector and international markets.

Combining strategic bid leadership with people leadership, this role offers the chance to shape business growth, develop and inspire high-performing teams, and influence the future direction of our Work Winning function.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the delivery of major strategic bids, developing winning strategies that support Amey's growth ambitions across key sectors.
  • Build, coach and inspire a team of bid professionals, creating a culture of collaboration, high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to shape innovative solutions and compelling value propositions for clients.
  • Drive bid governance, programme management and resource planning to ensure successful outcomes on complex opportunities.
  • Support the development of bidding capability across the wider organisation through mentoring, coaching and sharing best practice.
  • Contribute as a member of the Work Winning leadership team, helping to shape future strategy and organisational development.

What You Will Bring
Essential

  • Significant experience leading and winning high-value, complex bids within a consulting, infrastructure, engineering or related environment.
  • Proven people leadership experience with the ability to develop high-performing teams and promote collaboration.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior leaders and clients.
  • Experience developing bid strategies and leading multidisciplinary bid teams through complex procurement processes.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of balancing risk, opportunity and value creation.

Desirable

  • Experience within consulting, highways, rail, facilities management and/or nuclear markets.
  • APMP Practitioner qualification.
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
