Bid & Estimation Engineer
Location: Remote – Ireland / UK
Salary: €40,000 - €50,000 base
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bid & Estimation Engineer to support the preparation of high-quality tender submissions and project cost estimates across a range of security and technology projects.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring quotations are accurate, commercially sound and aligned to client requirements. Working closely with Account Managers, Operations teams and wider stakeholders across Europe, you will review project documentation, compile Bills of Materials, calculate labour requirements and support the preparation of tender documentation.
The role has been created to strengthen the Bid & Estimation team, improve workload distribution and increase capacity to support a growing portfolio of projects.
Major Responsibilities
- Compile Bills of Materials and prepare quotations for Account Managers.
- Review project designs, specifications and documentation to determine project requirements.
- Calculate quantities and labour requirements to support cost estimation activities.
- Prepare draft cost templates and tender documentation for internal review.
- Ensure quotations comply with client standards, requirements and expectations.
- Prepare tenders and standardised tender templates and documentation.
- Coordinate tender reviews, approvals and commercial sign-off processes.
- Support Account Managers during reviews with Operations teams and clients.
- Maintain records of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor tender deadlines and ensure submissions are completed on time.
- Coordinate tender review activities between Sales and Operations teams.
- Support procurement and tender administration activities, including management approval documentation.
- Prepare correspondence and documentation for internal stakeholders, bidders and contractors.
- Participate in client-facing tender review meetings where required.

What Success Looks Like
- Accurate and timely preparation of quotations and tender submissions.
- Consistent delivery against challenging deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring high-quality outputs with minimal errors.
- Effective collaboration with Account Managers, Operations teams and wider stakeholders.
- Clear presentation of project information that supports informed commercial decisions.
- Contributing to a more balanced and efficient workload across the Bid & Estimation team.
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
- Experience in bid coordination, bid management, administration or document control.
- Experience working with complex documentation and information.
- Strong understanding of tender preparation and coordination processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience within the security, engineering, construction, architecture or related industries.
- Experience working within project-based environments.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam software.
- Background in construction, electrical engineering, procurement, logistics or a similar analytical environment.
