About the Team / Business Area

The Growth and Sales Operations team plays a key role in driving business growth across Optum. Working collaboratively with teams across Sales, Commercial, Product, Finance, Legal and Operations, the team is responsible for identifying, managing and securing new business opportunities through bids, tenders and procurement exercises.

The function supports both public and private sector opportunities, ensuring high-quality and compliant submissions that clearly demonstrate our capabilities, value proposition and commitment to improving healthcare outcomes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Growth team as a Bid Executive. Reporting to the Head of Sales Operations, you will support the management of bid opportunities from qualification through to submission, working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure high-quality, compliant and competitive responses.

You will play a key role in coordinating bid activity, supporting stakeholder engagement and maintaining governance processes throughout the bid lifecycle. Working alongside the wider bid team and key business stakeholders, you will contribute directly to securing new business opportunities and supporting Optum's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the successful delivery of bids and tenders by helping to coordinate activity across teams, managing timelines and ensuring high standards of quality and compliance throughout the bid process.
  • Support bid opportunities from qualification through to submission, ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met.
  • Coordinate input from Sales, Commercial, Finance, Legal, Product and Operational teams.
  • Support bid planning, governance activities and stakeholder engagement throughout the bid lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the development of customer-focused responses, bid strategies and win themes.
  • Ensure submissions are compliant, accurate and aligned to evaluation criteria.
  • Maintain bid documentation, reporting and records, while supporting continuous improvement across the function.

Who You Are

You are a highly organised and proactive professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. You thrive on bringing people together, managing competing priorities and ensuring projects remain on track from initiation through to completion.

You possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills, allowing you to confidently work with colleagues across all levels of the organisation. Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and eager to develop a career within bid management. You may already have experience supporting bids, projects or commercial activities, or be looking to apply transferable skills gained in a coordination, operations or procurement role. Most importantly, you'll enjoy working collaboratively, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes.

  • Experience in bid support, project coordination, sales operations, commercial operations, procurement or a similar role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • A collaborative approach and confidence working with colleagues across a range of teams and functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

An interest in developing a career within bid management and supporting business growth.

Experience supporting bids, tenders or proposals, knowledge of healthcare or public sector procurement, and an awareness of bid management best practices would be advantageous but are not essential.
