About The Role

Winning and retaining profitable business across Corporate and Public Sector customers is critical to BT Business’ long term success. Many of these opportunities involve complex, high value, non standard commercial structures, long term investment, and material financial risk.

The Bid Finance Specialist plays a key role in shaping investment decisions, bid strategy and win / no win outcomes, ensuring that financial risks, returns and cash impacts are clearly understood and appropriately mitigated. As part of the Bid Finance team, this role has direct influence on BT’s win rates and profitability and is recognised as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and governance forums.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own and produce robust bid P&L, cash flow and investment appraisal models for complex and non standard bids.

  • Provide clear financial insight and recommendations to shape bid strategy, pricing structures and commercial positions.
  • Support and influence customer negotiations by advising on financial trade offs, mitigations and value optimising structures.
  • Prepare and present finance briefings for formal governance and Delegation of Authority (DOA) reviews, clearly articulating risks, returns and mitigations.
  • Contribute to contractual and financial schedules, supporting the negotiation of key commercial terms and finance derogations (e.g. benchmarking, audit, OBA) where required.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Commercial, Bid Mgt, Legal and wider finance teams to ensure aligned and well controlled bid submissions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
