Role Overview
Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.
About the Role
As a Bid Manager at Telent, you’ll play a key role in coordinating and managing high-quality bids across our Network Services portfolio, supporting opportunities across sectors such as education, government, blue light, defence and rail. You’ll manage the end-to-end bid process, working closely with the Sales team, Subject Matter Experts, Commercial Leads and Technical Leads to help review and shape compelling written and financial submissions.
This role is primarily home-based, with occasional attendance at our Warwick headquarters (1 day per month) for team meetings and collaboration. The role also requires eligibility for SC Security Clearance (minimum of 5 years of UK residency rule applies).
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate and manage bids from opportunity stage through to submission, deal review and post-bid activity.
- Work closely with Sales, Subject Matter Experts, Technical Leads and Commercial Leads to develop high-quality bid responses.
- Manage requirement matrices, cost reviews, deal reviews and bid governance activity to keep submissions on track.
- Support bids across a broad range of Network Services opportunities, including networks, cloud, infrastructure, CCTV upgrades, WAN and SD-WAN solutions (technology solutions).
- Monitor bid progress, coordinate reviews and make sure key actions, decisions and changes are clearly captured.
- Promote continuous improvement across bids and proposals, sharing lessons learned and supporting stronger bid outcomes.
- Support post-submission activity, including bid presentations, win and loss reviews and recommendations for improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You may already have experience managing bids within telecoms, technology, infrastructure, public sector, emergency services, defence, education or a services-led environment. Experience with public sector frameworks such as Network Services 3 (NS3) / Crown Commercial frameworks would be beneficial, but your ability to coordinate bids effectively, maintain strong attention to detail and manage multiple moving parts will be key.

- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Sales, SMEs, Commercial Leads and Technical Leads.
- Ability to assess customer requirements, manage bid documentation and support structured review processes.
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to support cost reviews and understand financial bid information.
- APMP or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable evidence of working towards this, would be beneficial.
- Eligibility to obtain SC clearance (Telent can sponsor eligible candidates who meet the minimum 5-year UK residency requirement for SC Security Clearance).
