About the Role

You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in Leavesden in where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.

We are currently looking for a Bid Manager who will manage multi-disciplinary bid teams throughout the whole bid process, including required pre-tender and post-tender work. To manage all qualitative and commercial aspects of the bid, keeping a clear focus on customer needs, while adhering to Skanska procedures and guidelines, and aligning to our values and brand.

As The Bid Manager, You Will

• Managing all day-to-day aspects of a bid and a bid team, including estimating, planning, submissions functions and operational bid team members and other subject matter experts, as well as any external professional teams, with responsibility for submitting a complete bid, on time and within budget.
• Support the development of a bid strategy through in-depth understanding of client needs and the market place/competition to ensure that proposed solutions add real value and differentiates Skanska (considering innovation, alternative design solutions, value engineering), while ensuring that the bid clearly communicates these benefits and discriminators.
• Identify and plan bid resource requirements, ensure that all the necessary bid resources are utilised in the most efficient and effective way. Ensure that bid team members are well-supported to deliver a successful bid, and have a clear understanding of the win strategy that they are able to act on directly.
• Agree and maintain a bid budget with the Preconstruction Director/Bid Director, manage bid cost and ensure value for money.
• Develop and maintain a bid programme, with clear key dates and actions. Ensure all tender meetings and review dates are clearly set out and attended, and follow up agreed actions. Review and monitor progress to resolve any issues.
