Based in Chorley, our Equipment & Ancillaries team provides a truly global service, sourcing and supplying medical and laboratory equipment to meet the unique needs of each study. From single-site trials to complex, multi-country programmes, we ensure our customers have the right equipment, in the right place, at the right time, enabling them to focus on delivering successful clinical outcomes, wherever their trials take place.
How Will You Make An Impact & Requirement
Role Mission
As a Bid Manager, you will be responsible for translating customer requirements into commercially viable and operationally deliverable solutions across our Clinical Services business. Acting as the bridge between customers, Business Development, and internal operational teams, you will lead the preparation of proposals, quotations, RFIs, RFPs, and Statements of Work, ensuring customer needs are fully understood and accurately reflected.
You will play a critical role in securing new business opportunities, supporting customer onboarding, and contributing to the successful delivery of global clinical trial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and coordination of customer quotations, proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), RFIs, and RFP responses
- Act as a subject matter expert across Resonant Clinical Solutions service offerings, including Equipment & Ancillary Services, Custom Kitting, and Biorepository & Archiving solutions
- Review customer requirements and scopes of work, identifying gaps, risks, assumptions, and opportunities
- Partner with Business Development and customers to clarify study requirements and define appropriate solutions
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Sourcing, Project Management, and other functions to assess feasibility, capacity, timelines, and service delivery requirements
- Develop pricing strategies and budget forecasts that support customer requirements and business objectives
- Prepare accurate commercial proposals and supporting documentation within agreed timelines
- Support customer onboarding and project handovers, ensuring a seamless transition from proposal to execution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Conduct account reviews and identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships and services
- Support Business Development with financial analysis, market insights, and project development activities
- Maintain accurate records within CRM, quoting, and business systems
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging customer needs to support future business growth
- Provide regular updates, reports, and project status information to leadership and stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For
We're looking for a commercially minded and customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will combine strong business acumen with excellent stakeholder management skills and have the ability to translate complex customer requirements into compelling solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple functions and contributing to the growth of a global life sciences business.
Essential Skills And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in account management, customer service, contract management, sales support, bid management, or proposal management within healthcare, life sciences, or a related industry
- Proven experience preparing quotations, proposals, budgets, contracts, and commercial documentation
- Strong commercial awareness, financial analysis, and pricing experience
- Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external customer relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound commercial judgement
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop customer solutions
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team approach
- Ability to handle confidential business information with professionalism and discretion

Desirable (but Not Essential)
- Experience within Clinical Trials, CROs, Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences environments
- Previous experience responding to complex RFPs, RFIs, and tender opportunities
- Project management experience or formal project management training
- Knowledge of clinical trial supply chains, equipment services, biorepository services, or custom kitting solutions
- Experience supporting global or international customers
- Familiarity with pricing models, forecasting, and business case development
- Experience working within regulated environments (e.g., GxP, GMP, ISO-regulated industries) is a plus
- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and commercial process optimisation.

This role is based on-site, with a requirement to work from the office for a minimum of 2 days per week to support close collaboration and operational effectiveness.
