Position is Hybrid working out of Wembley or Brentwood (Essex) - This can be remote depending on experience provided working within the industry of construction/social housing.

Purpose of the Role/Role Overview

Management of pre-qualification, tender and bid preconstruction activities up to submission

Primary and general responsibilities

  • Develop clear, well written proposals which convey operational, technical and commercial solutions in a clear and concise manner
  • Develop submissions in line with the bid requirement including drafting and reviewing bid text
  • Detailed assessment of the bid deliverables
  • Produce bid submission matrices identifying individual responsibilities for every section
  • Produce and agree the bid programme identifying key dates for the submission of information, review dates, deadlines and production of the bid
  • Coordinate the formatting of the document with the submission team
  • Monitor receipt of information from authors against the submission matrix and ensure information is received on time
  • Collate feedback/reviews for continuous improvement
  • Arrange, attend and chair bid launch meetings, prepare meeting agendas, issue trackers, updates and clarifications to the bid team
  • Update and maintain the Bid Library
  • Develop case studies and any supporting material for bid submissions
  • Attend bid site visits

Personal Specification

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven working experience of writing business proposals.
  • Excellent Excel and Word skills are a prerequisite in the performance of this role.
  • Experience of undertaking bid writing projects independently and seeing them thorough to completion.
  • Working experience of presenting technical and complex information in a clear, concise and understandable manner.

Qualities & Attitude

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interview technical staff as appropriate and motivate staff to feedback current and best practice.
  • To be a self starter and the ability to use own initiative as well as working effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritise own workload, deal with conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to show tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • An understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work outside normal office hours if required.
