At WPS, we're looking for an experienced and ambitious Bid Manager to join our growing Work Winning team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in securing major contracts across social housing, property services, compliance, building safety, and facilities management.

🎯 The Role
As Bid Manager, you'll take ownership of the bid process from opportunity identification through to final submission, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and compelling tender responses are delivered on time.
You'll work closely with operational teams, subject matter experts, senior leaders, and external partners to create winning submissions that showcase the very best of WPS.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
📌 Bid Management
- Lead and manage end-to-end bid and tender processes.
- Develop bid programmes and manage critical deadlines.
- Coordinate stakeholders to ensure timely completion of high-quality responses.
- Facilitate review sessions and approval processes.
- Ensure compliance with WPS governance and bid procedures.
✍️ Bid Writing & Content Creation
- Produce engaging, persuasive, and client-focused tender responses.
- Research clients and opportunities to tailor submissions effectively.
- Ensure submissions clearly demonstrate WPS's strengths, innovation, and value.
- Utilise AI tools and technology to improve efficiency and content quality.
- Work alongside design teams to develop impactful bid graphics and presentation materials.

📚 Knowledge & Resource Management
- Maintain and develop the WPS bid library.
- Ensure company statistics, case studies, CVs, and corporate information remain up to date.
- Collaborate with HSQE, Sustainability, Innovation, Fleet, and Supply Chain teams to continuously improve bid content.
👥 Team Leadership
- Manage and support a team of Bid Writers and Bid Coordinators.
- Conduct peer reviews and quality assurance activities.
- Coach and develop team members to achieve individual and team success.
📊 CRM & Governance
- Ensure Salesforce and bid management systems are maintained and updated.
- Support governance processes and Bid/No Bid decision making.
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of tender activity.
🤝 Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships across WPS and the wider Wates Group.
- Influence and engage senior stakeholders throughout the bid lifecycle.
- Facilitate collaborative working to deliver winning submissions.
Experience
✅ What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years' bid writing and bid management experience.
- Proven success managing large-scale tenders and competitive submissions.
- Experience within:
- Social Housing Maintenance
- Planned and Responsive Repairs
- Facilities Management
- Building Safety
- Compliance Services
