A Leading Law Firm Seeks an Experienced Bids Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the firm's growth strategy, leading major pitch, proposal and panel opportunities while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

Role Overview

Reporting into the senior Business Development (BD) leadership team, you will lead the firm's bid function, overseeing strategic pursuits from qualification through to submission. You will work closely with partners to develop winning strategies, deliver compelling proposals, and drive continuous improvement across the bid process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management of bids, tenders, proposals, and panel appointments across the firm.
  • Partner with partners and Business Development teams to develop pursuit strategies and win themes.
  • Manage complex and high-value opportunities, ensuring submissions are delivered to a consistently high standard.
  • Coach and challenge stakeholders to produce compelling, client-focused content.
  • Coordinate cross-practice and cross-office bid teams to meet deadlines and client requirements.
  • Analyse client needs, market trends, and competitor activity to strengthen proposal strategies.
  • Drive best practices, processes, and bid governance across the firm.
  • Monitor bid performance, win rates, and lessons learned to support ongoing improvement initiatives.

  • Significant experience managing bids, proposals, or pursuits within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple complex opportunities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working directly with partners and senior leadership teams.
  • Commercially minded with a strong understanding of business development and client acquisition strategies.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to influence and drive results across the business.
