Bid Manager (Business to Business - B2B)

Location: Orpington / Hybrid

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Manager to join Tapi Smart Flooring Solutions, our fast-growing B2B team!

We're bringing the Tapi difference to social housing providers, housebuilders, build-to-rent operators and insurers across the UK, and we're winning places on national public-sector frameworks along the way. Now we need a brilliant bid specialist to help us win more, win bigger and win smarter.

This is a brand-new role where you'll take full ownership of our bid process, from spotting the opportunity to pressing submit – and celebrating the win! If you love a deadline, can turn complex requirements into a compelling story and want to build something from the ground up, look no further and apply today.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end bid process for tenders, frameworks, DPS opportunities and mini-competitions – from horizon scanning through to submission and feedback.
  • Monitor procurement portals and framework call-offs so no relevant opportunity passes us by.
  • Lead structured bid/no-bid decisions with the Head of B2B, making sure we go after the right work at the right margin.
  • Plan every bid like a project – timelines, owners, reviews and sign-offs – and keep everyone on track.
  • Write and edit high-quality responses covering quality, delivery, social value, sustainability and compliance.
  • Pull together input from Buying, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations and our fitting teams, and turn it into one clear, confident Tapi voice.
  • Work with the Head of B2B and Finance on pricing schedules and commercial submissions.
  • Build and maintain a reusable bid library – case studies, method statements, policies, accreditations and CVs – so every bid is faster and better than the last.
  • Keep our compliance evidence and accreditations (such as SSIP) up to date and bid-ready.
  • Run win/loss reviews and use buyer feedback to keep raising the bar.
  • Report on bid win rate, contract value won, bid pipeline value and submission rate.
  • Always look for ways to continuously improve for customers, colleagues and the wider Tapi business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Get to Know us!

Hello, we're Tapi and we're slightly obsessed with floors! We're a flooring retailer with a difference, here to blow a breath of fresh air into carpet and flooring shopping – and we'd love for you to join the revolution.

Our story started in 2015, when a handful of flooring specialists decided to do things differently. Our mission was simple: make buying flooring reassuringly simple for our customers – and show that it could be fun! Since then we've grown to 253 stores, with a fleet of home consultants on the road nationwide. We're the largest flooring retailer in Britain and our customers rate us 'Excellent' on Trustpilot!

Tapi Smart Flooring Solutions is where we take everything we've learned in homes and bring it to our business partners. Using our national store network and fitting capability, we supply and fit flooring for social housing providers, housebuilders, build-to-rent operators and insurers – and we're growing fast.

So, what's the secret to our success? Our people. Even though there are around 1,500 of us, we're still a company with family values at heart. Wherever you're based – at the office, in a store or on the road – we all work together as one team. It's a happy place to work, and when you love what you do, customers see that too.

Tapi Carpets & Floors is an Equal Opportunities Employer. Our policy is clear: there shall be no discrimination on the basis of age, disability, sex, race, religion or belief, gender reassignment, marriage/civil partnership, pregnancy/maternity, or sexual orientation. We are an inclusive organisation and actively promote equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential. We welcome all applications.
