We are seeking a Bid Manager to produce our tender submissions, and to take ownership of those documents from receipt of the pack through to issue.

The Role

The Bid Manager is responsible for the production of our tender submissions. The role is design-led: the postholder builds each document from first principles, applying layout, typography, imagery, charts and infographics to present technical content clearly and to a standard that reflects the group and its brands.

Alongside production, the role takes ownership of the document itself. That means establishing what each tender requires, coordinating the colleagues who contribute to it, holding those contributors to internal deadlines, and proofreading the finished submission to confirm that it is complete, compliant and answers the questions put to us. A working understanding of tender content is therefore important, and experience of bid environments is highly desirable, but the design capability is the primary requirement.

Submissions are produced in Figma. Working online allows documents to update for the whole team simultaneously and supports the inclusion of video and moving image, including bespoke films produced for individual tenders by our visualisation team. Experience of the Adobe Creative Suite transfers readily to this environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Taking ownership of assigned tenders from receipt of the pack through to submission
• Interpreting tender documents to establish requirements, response limits, evaluation criteria and the internal deadlines that follow from them
• Coordinating input from pre-construction, commercial, design, project delivery and supply chain colleagues, following up and escalating where contributors are at risk of missing a deadline
• Writing, editing and proofreading content so that each submission reads as a single document and answers the questions as they have been asked
• Producing and laying out submissions in Figma, incorporating charts, infographics, imagery and embedded video
• Working with our design team to ensure every submission adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a consistent professional standard
• Preparing tailored team profiles, CVs, case studies and comparable project experience for each tender
• Maintaining the bid library, template content, version control and document naming conventions
• Conducting final pre-submission checks on compliance, completeness, consistency and appendices, and uploading to client portals
• Producing content and design for post-tender interviews and client presentations
