Astute’s Nuclear Team is partnering with a leading nuclear engineering and waste management organisation to recruit a Bid Manager / Tender Manager for its UK operations.
The strategically important Bid Manager / Tender Manager role offers the opportunity to support complex nuclear engineering projects, leading tender activities from initial opportunity assessment through to bid submission. You’ll play a key role in developing competitive, commercially robust proposals within a highly regulated industry. It offers a salary of £50,000 – £80,000, hybrid working model and other benefits including an enhanced pension and your birthday off!

Responsibilities and duties of the Bid Manager / Tender Manager role
Reporting To The Relevant Manager, You Will
- Lead and coordinate tender activities from initial opportunity review through to final submission.
- Develop and manage tender plans, ensuring submissions meet client requirements, deadlines and internal governance standards.
- Work closely with technical, commercial, operational and project teams to develop competitive proposals.
- Review tender documentation, specifications and contractual requirements to identify risks, opportunities and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation of technical and commercial submissions, ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality.
- Manage tender schedules, resources and stakeholder contributions throughout the bid process.
- Support pricing, cost estimation and commercial reviews to ensure proposals are competitive and commercially viable.
- Identify opportunities to improve bid processes, strengthen win strategies and enhance future tender performance.

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Proven experience in tender management, bid management or a similar commercial role.
- Experience coordinating complex tenders within engineering, nuclear, energy, waste management or another highly regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of commercial requirements, contract documentation and bid governance.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop technical and commercial proposals.
- Relevant qualifications in business, commercial management, project management or a related discipline would be advantageous.

Salary and benefits of the Bid Manager / Tender Manager role
- Competitive salary of £50,000- £80,000 dependent on experience.
- Car allowance, bonus scheme and enhanced 8% pension.
- 25 days holiday + your birthday off, increasing incrementally with length of service
