Role Overview And Purpose
Part of the $8bn ABM Industries group, ABM UK provides high quality technical maintenance, cleaning, security and integrated facility services to a wide client base throughout the UK and Ireland. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, precise, proactive, and articulate individual with prior public and/or private sector bid-writing and bid-management experience within a TFM, hard or soft FM (mechanical & electrical/cleaning/security) environment. You will be writing and bid managing FM bids for a wide range of sectors, including the public sector, commercial properties, transportation, distribution, historic buildings and many more. A hybrid role based at our North Greenwich, London office and home-based, this fast-paced, varied role will see you join a growing team within a rapidly expanding organisation, offering excellent opportunities for advancement and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- To play your part in winning new business within the business development team in the creation of high-quality documents and presentations, working to exact deadlines and creating high quality winning proposals; to grow the business.
- You will be expected to write compelling, succinct responses to customer PQQs, ITTs and RFPs using your strong command of English and ability to write autonomously and knowledgeably about FM contracts.
- Additionally, you will be expected to work within our bid process working closely with members of the business development team and specialists from across the business.
You will have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft's collaborative working tools, supplemented by a positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to learn. You will be speaking to and working with many levels of management to progress and complete each bid. You must be organised, reliable, enthusiastic and have an eye for detail. This role would suit an individual who enjoys and excels at writing, working in a fast-paced sales environment and would like to develop their broader bid management capabilities.

Required Skills And Experience
- Working autonomously and prioritising workload to write, coordinate/bid-manage, review and complete high-quality bids in a timely fashion.
- Building positive internal relationships to collate and gather information in response to questions, writing accurate, succinct and persuasive narrative for the management and delivery of services.
- Organising layout and working within the confines of each customer's bid requirements.
- Creating bespoke, on-brand, memorable documents and presentations.
- Maintaining an up-to-date library of bid content.
Essential
- Excellent written English.
- Proven, successful bid-writing experience from within the public or private sectors.
- Eye for detail.
- Proactive attitude.
- Ability to present information visually.
- Time management and planning.
- IT skills:
- Microsoft Word.
- Microsoft Powerpoint.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office styles and the application of consistent branding.
- Good knowledge of the facilities management sector.
Desirable
- Shipley/APMP training or similar.
- Keenness for problem solving and completing projects.
- Degree-educated or relevant qualification.
- Familiarity with:
- Publishing programs such as InDesign or Scribus.
- Microsoft Excel.
- Microsoft Sharepoint, Project, Planner and Teams.
