Bid Manager / Writer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Bid Writer to support the creation of high-quality bids and proposals across the public and private sectors. Working within IT and digital transformation, this role involves managing the bid process, collaborating with practice leads and subject matter experts, and producing clear, compelling content. The successful candidate will also make use of the internal bid library and AI tools to enhance quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Bid Management & Coordination
- Manage the end-to-end bid lifecycle, ensuring timely and compliant submissions.
- Coordinate bid activities and maintain communication with practice leads and subject matter experts.
- Prepare bid kick-off sessions and help shape win themes and solution narratives.
- Use the internal bid library and AI tools to support content development and improve bid quality.
- Ensure full compliance with public sector procurement requirements and tender documentation.

Bid Writing & Content Development
- Produce clear, concise, and persuasive written responses tailored to customer requirements.
- Translate technical information from SMEs into accessible, benefits-led content.
- Develop case studies, value propositions, method statements and proposal sections.
- Edit and refine contributions to ensure accuracy, consistency and strong narrative flow.
Quality, Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure all proposals meet internal quality standards and customer expectations.
- Support review cycles including red team and quality assurance processes.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving bid processes and reusable content.
- Maintain and help evolve the internal bid library, incorporating updated and AI-enhanced materials.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Experience working in a bid writing or bid management role within IT, digital transformation, technology services or the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of UK public sector procurement processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs and stakeholders at different levels.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Confidence using AI tools and structured bid libraries to improve efficiency.

Desirable
- APMP Foundation certification or equivalent.
- Experience working with public sector frameworks such as G-Cloud or DOS.
- Understanding of cloud, data, cybersecurity or agile delivery practices.
