Bid Project Manager

Salary: Competitive plus performance bonus, car allowance & pension

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) flexibility on working hours

Location: London, N1 9JY

What you’ll be doing

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our Public Sector Business Development team located at Kings Cross in London. The successful candidate will contribute and be a part of Veolia’s vision to achieve a substantial share of the UK market for public sector waste management and environmental services contracts.

  • Understand the client’s needs and requirements, key deliverables on the bid and any considerations for Veolia in the development of the bid.
  • Work with the Business Development Manager and project team to develop solutions (technical, legal and financial aspects).
  • Work in collaboration with operational and business support functions to ensure buy-in and development of robust proposals.
  • Ensure that tenders are submitted on time and in line with the client requirements.
  • Write high-quality, detailed Method Statements detailing the bid’s technical solution.
  • Manage the preparation of presentations and attend all client meetings, and administer the procurement process and project plan.
  • Manage the liaison with Local Authorities (clarification process).
  • Lead on some parts of the tender solution.
  • Produce a high standard of work in terms of accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide other project management and general support for the department as needed.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a well-organised individual with a very high standard of written English, strong IT ability with advanced level in Word, proficient use of Excel and PowerPoint and ideally familiar with Google Suite. We are looking for an ambitious individual that wishes to learn and progress within a high-performing Business Development team delivering profitable growth.

Essential:

  • Previous bidding and / or business development experience.
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility in regard to working hours.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • High level of confidentiality, as working with business-critical data.
  • Equally comfortable working in a team and working on their own initiative.
