Role Description
The Bid & Social Value Manager role is a full-time position based in Blaenavon. The role involves overseeing the end-to-end bid lifecycle, including identifying opportunities, coordinating bid responses, and ensuring submissions meet all client and regulatory requirements. Develop and communicate social value strategies, ensuring bids align with client requirements and community benefits, such as local employment, training, and sustainability initiatives.

Day-to-day tasks include:

- Managing bid schedules
- Writing and editing bid responses
- Maintaining bid libraries
- Tracking tender opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with internal processes and external frameworks
- Monitoring social value commitments
- Reporting on outcomes
- Building relationships with clients, partners, and community stakeholders
The Bid Manager will work closely with senior leadership to align bids with business strategy and commercial objectives.
Qualifications
- Ability to manage end-to-end bid processes, including Bid Preparation and Bid Management.
- Strong Bid Writing skills with experience in Proposal Management and shaping persuasive bid content.
- Knowledge of structured Bid Processes and best practices in tender coordination and governance.
- Experience in social value planning, community engagement, or CSR initiatives within construction or related sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, document management systems).
- Relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, or professional services bidding; a background in business, construction management, or related field is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, collaborating with onsite and remote colleagues and stakeholders.
