Bid Writer / Bid Coordinator
Location: Berkshire or Central Scotland
Sector: Energy Infrastructure
Strong bid submissions depend on more than good writing. They need someone who can get the right information from busy technical teams, understand what the customer is asking for and keep everything moving towards the deadline.
I’m recruiting for an energy infrastructure business looking for someone to support its tender activity across electricity networks and low-carbon infrastructure projects.
You’ll work with engineering, operations, and commercial colleagues to turn their knowledge and project experience into clear, well-supported proposals. The position combines written responses with the practical coordination needed to get a compliant submission out of the door.
What you’ll be doing
- Break down tender requirements, identify the information needed, and organise contributions from the relevant teams.
- Draft and refine responses that explain how the business would deliver the work, using relevant evidence and project examples.
- Manage submission documents and procurement portals, keeping track of deadlines, outstanding actions, and supporting information.
- Check proposals for clarity, accuracy, and compliance before submission.
- Keep reusable bid material current, including project profiles, staff experience, and standard responses.
- Support internal reviews, customer clarification requests, and follow-up activity.
- Record results and feedback to help improve future submissions.
- Maintain supporting business management documentation and assist with framework opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
