Start Your Career with Connect Catering
Are you a confident writer with a creative flair and an interest in sales, marketing, or business development?
We're looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Bid Writer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or early career professional who enjoys writing, creating engaging content, and wants to develop a career in business development and bid management.
You do not need extensive bid writing experience. We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills, creativity, and a willingness to learn. In return, we'll provide training, support, and development opportunities to help you build your career within a growing and successful business.
About The Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop skills across bid writing, sales support, marketing content, and business development.
You'll work closely with our Sales, Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams to help create compelling tender responses, presentations, proposals, and customer communications that support company growth.
No two days will be the same. One day you may be helping write a tender submission, the next creating a presentation for a prospective client or supporting a new business opportunity.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys writing, is naturally curious, organised, and wants to learn how businesses win new contracts and grow.
Key Responsibilities

- Research client requirements and help develop engaging and persuasive content.
- Work with colleagues across the business to gather information for submissions.
- Proofread and review documents to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Prepare final documents for electronic submission, presentation and print production.
- Help maintain our content library, case studies, testimonials, and supporting materials.
- Contribute ideas to improve the quality and creativity of submissions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
