Bid Writer

Help shape business-critical opportunities across technology, workplace and digital transformation solutions.

At Sharp UK, we're looking for a talented Bid Writer to join our Commercial Support team. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex information into clear, persuasive and compelling content. You'll work alongside technical specialists, sales professionals and operational teams to create high-quality bid responses that help organisations make informed decisions about their future workplace and technology investments. Whether it's managed IT services, print solutions, workplace design or visual technology, you'll play a central role in how we present our expertise, capability and value to customers across both the public and private sectors.

The Role

Good bid writing is about much more than completing paperwork. It's about understanding what matters to a customer, asking intelligent questions, uncovering compelling evidence and presenting information in a way that is clear, credible and persuasive. As a Bid Writer, you'll be responsible for developing tender responses, supplier questionnaires, framework submissions and other commercial proposals. You'll work closely with subject matter experts across the business, translating technical and operational detail into engaging content that scores highly against customer requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • A proactive mindset and a desire to continually improve both your own work and the wider bid function.
  • The ability to analyse information, synthesise complex topics and present them in a clear, logical and persuasive manner.
