We’re now looking for an experienced and ambitious Bid Writer or Senior Bid Writer to join our established, high-performing and winning Bid Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing compelling bids that showcase our people, expertise and innovative approach. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across the business, turning complex information into clear, engaging and persuasive content that helps us secure exciting new opportunities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Write technical and non-technical tender responses
  • Coordinate the writing process for low, medium and high priority bids (depending on experience)
  • Understand and apply internal bid management processes and systems, supporting, coaching and developing Assistant Bid Writers and other team members where required
  • Review opportunities and identify any positive and negative factors
  • Structure proposals to meet the requirements of the client’s evaluation team
  • Review material from previous proposals and recommend appropriate content for reuse
  • Assist in the design and completion of answer plans, storyboards and overall bid plans
  • Understand and apply the bid review process and implement throughout all tender submissions
  • Report on bid progress through appropriate internal channels
  • Provide feedback and reviews, proof reading and editing support as required
  • Set up bid response documents
  • Create and edit bid responses for PQQ/SQ and Stage 1 application documents
  • Submit proposals via portals or emails, in line with client requirements
  • Complete company information and standard company responses within bids
  • Prepare CVs and case studies for inclusions in bids
  • Provide general administration support to the Bid team as required
  • Liaise with other departments, providing an effective and professional service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal Bid Writer will have:

  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to review information and determine appropriate actions
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership of your work
  • A collaborative, team-focused approach, combined with strong problem-solving skills
  • At least 12 months’ experience in a similar bid writing, tender or proposal role
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • A Degree-level education, ideally in English, Journalism, Communications or a related subject, or equivalent relevant experience
  • An APMP Foundation qualification, or a willingness to work towards this qualification
  • An understanding of, or a genuine willingness to learn about, the construction and property industry.
