Role Description
The Bid Writer is a full-time, on-site role based in Steeple Bumpstead, responsible for producing high-quality tenders, proposals, and supporting documentation for fire, security, and electrical projects. Day-to-day duties include:

- Researching client requirements
- Interpreting technical information
- Collaborating with sales, engineering, and management teams to develop compelling bid content

The role involves:
- Structuring bid responses
- Writing clear and persuasive narratives
- Ensuring that submissions align with industry standards, company capabilities, and client specifications
Additional responsibilities include:
- Managing bid timelines
- Coordinating inputs from stakeholders
- Maintaining a library of reusable content and case studies
- Proofreading, editing, and continuous improvement of bid materials to enhance win rates and support business growth
Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive bid documents.
- Experience in bid writing, proposal development, or technical writing, ideally within M&E, construction, or related sectors.
- Solid research and analytical abilities to interpret technical data, standards, and client requirements.
- Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, comfortable working with technical and non-technical team members.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, compliance, and quality in all written materials.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn about fire, security, and electrical systems, including relevant industry standards and accreditations.
- Ability to work on-site in Steeple Bumpstead and contribute positively to a professional, customer-focused team culture.
- Relevant education such as a degree or vocational qualification in English, Communications, Business, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
