Bid Writer Opportunity in Pre-Construction Team
We're looking for a Bid Writer to join our Pre-Construction team based in Salford or Speke.
Location
Salford or Speke - Hybrid opportunity for some work at home
Hours
37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
About the Role
Kier Construction is seeking a skilled and motivated Bid Writer to join our dynamic Pre-Construction team. This role is pivotal in supporting Kier's strategic growth by producing high-quality, compelling proposal content that clearly communicates our value proposition to clients across a range of sectors including education, healthcare, defence, and infrastructure. You will work closely with bid managers, subject matter experts, and operational teams to craft tailored responses that reflect Kier's technical capabilities, commitment to innovation, and excellence in project delivery.

As a Bid Writer, you'll be working within the Pre-Construction team, supporting them in delivering high-quality, compelling proposals that win work. Your day to day will include:

- Leading and coordinating responses to Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents
- Facilitating storyboard sessions with bid teams to develop structured and client-focused responses
- Adapting and tailoring existing content to meet specific client requirements and project contexts
- Editing and refining contributions from various departments to ensure timely delivery in line with deadlines
- Driving continuous improvement by applying client feedback and innovating in the presentation of bid content
What We're Looking For
This role of Bid Writer is great for you if:
- You have a degree-level education or equivalent experience in professional writing, communications, or marketing
- You have demonstrable experience in bid writing within a complex environment
- You can interpret and translate complex technical information into clear, engaging written content
- You have excellent written communication skills with a keen eye for detail and consistency
- You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
