Bid Writer & Business Development Co-ordinator

Our client is a growing provider of complex care and domiciliary care, committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support to individuals and communities. As the organisation continues to expand, they are looking for an experienced and driven Tender Writer & Business Development Co-ordinator to support their growth and help secure new business opportunities.

This is a varied and influential role, combining high-quality tender writing with business development support. You will take ownership of the tender pipeline, identify and respond to new contract opportunities, and produce compelling, evidence-based submissions that reflect the organisation’s values, expertise and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Tender Writing & Bid Management

  • Lead the preparation, writing and submission of high-quality tender responses for local authority, NHS and private sector commissioners, with a particular focus on homecare and domiciliary care contracts.
  • Manage the full bid lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through to submission and post-tender feedback.
  • Maintain a library of bid content, case studies, policies and quality statements, ensuring all material remains current and compliant.
  • Co-ordinate responses across internal stakeholders, including Registered Managers, clinical leads and the senior leadership team, ensuring submissions are accurate, consistent and evidence-based.
  • Track and report on tender pipeline activity, win rates and outcomes.
  • Monitor procurement portals and relevant sector publications to identify new opportunities.

  • Support the BD team with presentations, pitches and proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform BD strategy and positioning.
  • Assist with the development of BD collateral, including capability statements, service brochures and one-pagers.
  • Support CRM administration and pipeline tracking, ensuring business development activity is accurately recorded.
  • Contribute to relationship management activity with commissioners, ICBs and procurement leads.

Procurement & Supplier Portal Management

  • Maintain and update our client’s presence across relevant procurement and supplier portals, ensuring accreditations, policies and company information are accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor portal notifications, deadlines and re-accreditation requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant internal teams to gather documentation and approvals required for portal compliance.

Events & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support the BD team in planning and delivering external events, including commissioner days, networking events and sector conferences.
  • Represent our client at relevant events, building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinate event logistics, including venues, materials, delegate communications and post-event follow-up.
  • Contribute content and ideas to our client’s external profile, including award submissions, sector publications and LinkedIn activity.

About You

Essential

  • 3–5 years' experience in tender writing, bid management or business development, ideally within health and social care, homecare or another regulated sector.
  • A demonstrable track record of producing successful bid submissions.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, persuasively and within strict word limits.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience using public sector procurement portals to identify, track and respond to tender opportunities.
  • Ability to interpret complex tender specifications and translate requirements into high-quality written responses.
  • Confident working cross-functionally and engaging with senior stakeholders to gather information and evidence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with business insurance.

Desirable

  • Experience within domiciliary care, complex care or community healthcare services.
  • Familiarity with CQC regulatory requirements and quality frameworks relevant to homecare.
  • Knowledge of local authority and NHS commissioning processes.
  • Experience supporting or co-ordinating BD events.
  • Exposure to CRM systems and pipeline management tools.
  • APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) Foundation or equivalent qualification.
