Job Description

Information Tech Consultants Ltd is looking for a Big Data Engineer (Python & SQL) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data-processing solutions for client projects across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with large datasets, building scalable data pipelines, and developing efficient ETL solutions using Python and SQL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain big data solutions and data pipelines.
  • Build and optimize ETL workflows for extracting, transforming, and loading data.
  • Develop Python scripts for data processing and automation.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries.
  • Process and analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into centralized data platforms.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance of data pipelines.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems.
  • Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in Big Data development or Data Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
  • Experience developing ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
  • Knowledge of distributed data-processing concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Candidates must be currently based in the UK.
  • Willingness to relocate within the UK based on client/project requirements.
