How you'll make a difference

As a Bikeability Instructor, you'll play a vital role in helping children and adults develop the skills and confidence to cycle safely for life. We're seeking individuals who are knowledgeable cyclists, excellent communicators and positive role models, with a passion for promoting road safety and active travel across our communities.

What you will be doing

  • It will be your responsibility to deliver training to adults, children and families throughout the year, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Regularly, you will promote cycle training to groups and individuals.
  • As a confident cyclist, you will be happy to work in all weathers.

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you are an accomplished cyclist, used to cycling in all road and traffic conditions and can provide your own bicycle and cycle helmet which must be worn at all times.
  • You must have strong communication skills, with the ability to convey clear instructions to children, adults and other professionals.
  • You will have good availability during school times, at least two days a week and you must have some experience of working with children.

What you need to know

  • This position is being offered as an annualised contract of 600 hours throughout the year - 11.51 hours weekly
  • Travel time and expenses paid.
  • Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
  • Interviews will be held on 20th October 2026.
