Billing Administrator
SES Business Water
Are you a highly organised administrator with excellent attention to detail? Do you enjoy working with data, resolving problems, and ensuring processes run smoothly? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
SES Business Water is looking for a Billing Administrator to join our Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate billing services, supporting customer onboarding, and ensuring compliance with water market processes and standards.
About The Role
As a Billing Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting a range of billing and operational activities, helping to ensure our customers receive an efficient and accurate service. Working closely with customers, wholesalers, contractors, and internal colleagues, you will manage billing data, process market transactions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and upload meter readings within billing systems to meet billing deadlines.
- Liaise with customers and meter reading contractors to obtain cyclical meter readings and resolve associated queries.
- Investigate and resolve meter reading exceptions.
- Work closely with wholesalers to resolve issues relating to market data, metering, and operational processes.
- Validate billing information through pre-billing and post-billing reporting activities.
- Coordinate and process market notifications and transactions within required industry timescales.
- Process transactions relating to meter corrections, new connections, gap sites, and Directions to Supply in line with Market Performance Standards.
- Maintain accurate customer account records within HiAffinity, CMOS, and CMA.
- Support customer onboarding activities and ensure all processes are completed within required timelines.
- Provide support and cover across billing operations when required.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support the testing and implementation of new systems and automated solutions.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- GCSE Mathematics and English Language at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
- Experience processing and maintaining accurate data within business systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- A flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
Desirable
- Experience working within the water industry.
- Knowledge of CMOS, CMA, HiAffinity, or similar systems.
- Understanding of the non-household water market in England and Scotland.
- Experience in database management.
- An interest in process improvement and automation.
