BIM Specialist – Model Management Focused

London

About us

Hoare Lea is a human-centric and planet-conscious engineering consultancy. We offer intelligent and sustainable solutions to complex design challenges for the built environment throughout the UK and further afield.

We provide a wide range of engineering and consultancy services, including acoustics, air quality, building services (MEP), fire, lighting, security, and sustainability to name but a few. Together, our highly skilled teams use technical expertise and problem-solving skills to bring buildings to life. We ensure that whatever the building, its design is outstanding, and its operations meet the needs of the communities it serves.

We are as committed to providing an environment where everyone can realise their unique potential. So, in joining Hoare Lea, you will experience a business that enriches your knowledge, supports your wellbeing, and welcomes your individuality. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in our 9-day fortnight scheme, thriving community groups, varied social and networking events, and extensive professional and technical development schemes. We also offer an extensive benefits package, including private medical cover, an electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, stock options, and 25 days of annual leave (increasing with service), alongside flexible and hybrid working.

Whatever your ambitions or circumstances, our aim is to enable everyone to develop their knowledge, give their best, and enjoy what they do.

About the role

We have an opportunity for a BIM Specialist to join our London BIM team and support the production, coordination, and management of building services models.

This is a hands-on, project-focused role for someone who cares about how a model performs, how well building services coordinate, and whether the information we issue is clear, consistent, and reliable.

You will take ownership of standard BIM activities and work closely with engineers and project teams to identify issues early, resolve them constructively, and improve the quality of our models and deliverables.

You will use model reviews and clash reports as practical coordination tools, helping teams understand and resolve issues rather than simply recording them. You will also support linked model management, BIM documentation, information management, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Digital tools and automation are valued capabilities in this role. We develop many of our own tools, and you will have opportunities to use them and develop your skills in areas such as Python, pyRevit, Revit automation, and other digital platforms. Used together, these tools can help us deliver high-quality coordination models and reliable information that supports construction.

This is a hybrid role, typically based in our London office for two days each week, with the remaining three days worked remotely, subject to project requirements and management discretion.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Set up and manage our Revit MEP coordination models in line with company standards and agreed project requirements, including BIM execution plans (BEPs) and exchange information requirements (EIRs).
  • Monitor coordination within project models, including producing clash reports, contributing to clash meetings, and developing and tracking resolution plans.
  • Monitor model health and take practical action to maintain stable, efficient, and reliable project models.
  • Manage spaces, linked models, and externally received information, including changes that affect project models.
  • Produce and review project deliverables, maintaining strong graphical and information quality.
  • Support model reviews, BIM execution plans (BEPs), common data environment (CDE) and ACC activities, change management, and standard information management tasks.
  • Contribute to internal and external BIM meetings, communicating issues clearly and supporting agreed actions.
  • Support model managers with project reviews, resource planning, bid information, and local BIM training.
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to the development of consistent BIM processes and documentation.
  • Identify practical opportunities to improve repetitive workflows through better use of model data or automation.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has practical experience using Revit for BIM delivery, ideally within building services, engineering consultancy, or a multidisciplinary design environment.
  • Understands the fundamentals of model set-up, model health, coordination, clash detection, linked models, and project deliverables.
  • Takes a thorough, quality-focused approach and recognises when issues need to be resolved or escalated.
  • Takes ownership of standard activities and asks for support when needed.
  • Communicates clearly and works constructively with technical and project teams.
  • Is developing their knowledge of BIM standards, information management, and project processes.
  • Is willing to learn and keen to strengthen their skills in model coordination, model health, information management, digital tools, and automation through training and practical project experience.
  • Has an interest in model data and automation; experience with Python, pyRevit, or Revit automation is an advantage, not a requirement.

Above all, you will be proactive and coordination-minded. You will see the model as a shared project tool, take pride in its health and usability, and want to help the wider team produce better information.

Your development

We do not expect every skill to be fully formed on day one. You will have opportunities to strengthen your knowledge of standards, information management, coordination, model data, and automation while contributing to live project delivery.

We will encourage you to ask questions, propose practical improvements, and share what you learn with the wider team.
