XCN is a growing engineering design consultancy specialising in the data centre sector.
We support projects across the EMEA region, providing coordinated design and engineering services from early feasibility and concept development through to detailed design, coordination and construction-stage support.
Our services include Design Management, CSA, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, BIM, ICT, ELV, Security and Project Delivery Support.
As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are looking to strengthen our BIM team with an experienced BIM Coordinator based in Derry.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced BIM Coordinator to support the delivery of BIM coordination across a growing portfolio of data centre projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with our BIM Leads, Design Managers and engineering teams, supporting BIM model development, coordination, review and management throughout the design process.
This role is suited to someone who is organised, technically capable and comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines within a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support BIM coordination across data centre design projects.
- Develop and maintain BIM models in line with project requirements.
- Coordinate models across architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and other project disciplines.
- Review project models and identify clashes, coordination issues and design conflicts.
- Support the preparation and management of coordinated BIM deliverables.
- Work closely with BIM Leads, Design Managers and engineering teams to resolve design coordination issues.
- Attend and contribute to BIM and design coordination meetings.
- Track clashes, actions and coordination items through to resolution.
- Support model reviews at key project stages.
- Assist with maintaining BIM standards, project requirements and agreed workflows.
- Support the management and organisation of project information within the Common Data Environment.
- Help ensure model information is accurate, coordinated and issued in line with project requirements.
- Provide support to project teams throughout the design and delivery process.

Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a BIM Coordinator, BIM Engineer or similar coordination role.
- Strong understanding of BIM coordination processes and multidisciplinary design workflows.
- Experience in BIM model development, review and coordination.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating building services and engineering models.
- Good understanding of clash detection and model coordination.
- Ability to work across multiple disciplines and communicate clearly with engineering and design teams.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities across active projects.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative project team.
- Based in, or able to work from, XCN’s Derry office.

Highly Desirable
- Previous experience working on data centre projects.
- Experience within an engineering design consultancy or contractor environment.
- Experience coordinating CSA and MEP disciplines.
- Familiarity with structured BIM execution plans, Common Data Environments and project information requirements.
- Experience supporting large-scale or technically complex engineering projects.
