About MES
Metrology Engineering Services (MES) is an engineering and surveying company specialising in high-accuracy 3D measurement, laser scanning, dimensional inspection and digital engineering. As we expand our Scan-to-BIM and digital surveying capability, we are looking for an experienced Revit / Scan-to-BIM Consultant to work alongside our engineering team and help develop this area of the business.
The Role
We are looking for someone with strong practical experience producing high-quality Revit models from 3D laser scan and point-cloud data. Initially, this would be a flexible consultancy role supporting projects as required. The opportunity could grow significantly as our workload develops, with the potential to become a full-time position for the right person. This is more than a modelling role. We are looking for someone who can provide technical leadership, establish good modelling practices and review the work of developing Revit modellers within our engineering team.

- Producing Revit models from registered 3D laser scan / point-cloud data
- Reviewing and quality-checking Revit models produced internally
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to MES engineers developing their Revit capability
- Establishing practical Scan-to-BIM workflows, modelling standards and QA processes
- Developing appropriate Revit families, templates and modelling conventions
- Advising on appropriate LOD/LOI and modelling approaches for different client requirements
- Checking model geometry against point-cloud survey data and specified tolerances
- Supporting the production of plans, elevations, sections and other survey deliverables
- Helping MES develop an efficient and scalable in-house Scan-to-BIM capability
Experience We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in someone with:
- Strong professional experience using Autodesk Revit
- Demonstrable experience of Scan-to-BIM / point-cloud-to-Revit modelling
- Experience working with large registered point clouds
- A good understanding of architectural and existing-building modelling
- Experience producing models suitable for architectural, refurbishment and construction projects
- A strong understanding of Revit families, categories, coordinates, levels, phases and model structure
- Experience implementing or working to BIM/modelling standards and QA procedures
- The ability to independently review models and identify modelling or accuracy issues
- The ability to guide and develop less experienced Revit users

Experience with laser scanning, survey control, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, Leica Cyclone/Register 360 or similar software would be beneficial but is not essential
What We're Looking to Build
MES already has significant experience in high-accuracy 3D laser scanning and dimensional metrology. We are now looking to strengthen the downstream BIM capability required to turn that survey data into high-quality, client-ready Revit deliverables.
We're therefore looking for someone who is interested not only in completing individual projects, but also in helping us develop the processes, standards and internal capability behind a growing Scan-to-BIM service.
The initial arrangement can be flexible around other commitments, with workload agreed on a project-by-project or hourly/day-rate basis.
For the right person, there is the opportunity for the role to expand alongside the service and potentially develop into a permanent position.
